The latest news today, i guess is the rising of the goods and service(GST) tax next year in february.

An incremement of 2% to the original 5 % basically means paying extra $2 more for every $100 dollars spend.

Is it really a lot? Lets take a look at what this additional 2% does to our pocket and how we can benefit from this 2%...

Many people i speak to, continues to say increase in GST means they cannot save more, heavier burden and worst of all some say the government wants to pocket your money.

To me, its quite a good news, not because i am working for the government, but what the message i interpret it as

"If you can afford to spend, then you should afford to pay the tax involved."

Its the truth...If you have the spending power to eat in a resturant, you shouldn't be complaining that there is service charge or CESS charge involved. Its your choice...Those who have low spending power should go to hawker centre, at there you wouldnt burnt up your whole pocket and the price is cheaper compared to resturants. Does that make sense? *somemore hawker centre have more delicious food then resturants*

So, its the same theory, if you able to afford to go on a shopping spree, why complain about the rising GST?

And if you dislike the rising tax, then save your money, dont' spend it and you will not be bothered too much from it. Doesnt that sounds right?

Most of the people i know personally, a lot are quite wealth..IF they don't spend on things they THINK they need and save 10% of what they earn. I believe they would have more than 20,000 in their bank account by now, at age 24.

Looking on the other side, this increase in 2% is meant to help those needy people of the rising health cost.

A very intelligent strategy to get people to help the poor and needy every now and then without marketing it. : )

As the world improves, our medical welfare has also went up another level. Many Critical illness that were once declare as Terminal illness is now regarded as an illness that could be cured if treatment is seeked early.

Can you see the direction the medical world is heading? Not forgeting about inflation, things that once was so cheap become kinda expensive now.

If things are not put in place for future healthcare protection and the growing aging population, the econonmy would sure be put under huge strain, where treasury reserves would be setting aside only for aging population and healthcare instead of improving the standard of living of the young and working class.
